Option B requires a computer with Excel 97 or higher and Windows 95 or higher.
How to Change the Macro Security Setting in Excel — N.B.: the software does NOT function if this setting is not correct. Please click the link and verify your settings.Before proceeding please carefully read the installation instructions and note the system requirements. When you click OptionB (see download link below) you will be asked if you want to run the program from where it is or if you would like to save this program to disk. Choose to save the program.
Saving the program (OptionB) to disk will allow you to install the program at a later time by simply running OptionB from the directory in which you choose to save it. This will use some additional disk space (approx. 1 Mb).
When you run OptionB (either now or later), several Excel workbooks (spreadsheets) will be placed in the directory C:\Program Files\Nysprl\Option B. The following text files will also be placed in this directory: installation instructions (readme); the Spreadsheet eForm User Guide (UserGuideB.txt); and specific electronic reporting instructions for each DEC Annual report type (eGuidelines26E.txt, eGuidelines26AE.txt, eGuidelines27E.txt and eGuidelines25E.txt).
The User Guide describes how to create new reporting forms and the eGuidelines explain the NYSDEC filing requirements and format of data to be entered into each Annual Report type.
Each time you fill out a Spreadsheet eForm, a registration form will display. This form contains fields for entering or verifying contact information. If you do not see the registration form, you must change the Macro Security Settings in Excel. This contact information will be placed in the file C:\prlYYYY\identity.txt (where YYYY represents the current year). Include this file with any electronic data submissions.
